Intentions by the Armenian Apostolic Church to build two churches in Nagorno-Karabakh are nothing else than the continuation of settlement of Armenians in the occupied territory
of Azerbaijan, Akif Agayev, the spokesman for the Caucasus Clerical Board (CCB), said. He was commenting on the statement by leader of the Artsakh Eparkhy of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Pargev Martirosian, on plan on the construction of two new churches in Stepanakert [center of Nagorno-Karabakh enclave of Azerbaijan under the Armenian occupation].
The world knows this is the Azerbaijani territory and all attempts by Armenians will be in vain, Agayev noted. Armenians even earlier took such attempts, destroyed the Azerbaijani cemeteries, historical monuments, testifying for ancient roots of inhabitance of Azerbaijani people in this territory, he underlined.
В"Are there really so many believers in Nagorno-Karabakh that the existing churches turn out insufficient and there is need for construction of new ones?,В" Agayev demands.
