PROGRAM OF CIS COUNTRIES’ 5TH INTER’L SPORTS GAMES DETERMINED

The program of the CIS countries’ 5th international sports games in Baku from 24 to 26 September was determined. The event will be announced open with scientifical and practical conference at the National Olympic Committee on 24 September at 10.000am, Ragif Karimov, the chief of the Information Division of the Youth, Sport and Tourism Ministry, told Trend.

The participants of the games will pay a ttribute to the Martyr’s Alley and the grave of Ex-President Heydar Aliyev. The opening ceremony of the competitions will take place at the Hand Games Palace at 17.00pm. The Ministry will organize a marsh under slogan �For healthy living’ from the Martyr’s Alley to the Azadlig square with participation of 3,000 people.

According to Karimov, the attending of the competitions will be 400 sportsmen from 10 countries and 800 sportsmen from Azerbaijan. The games will be held on 10 kinds of sport such as volleyball, athletics, mini-football, table tennis, and swimming. Men and women, as well as sports families will struggle for medals at the Olympics led by referee Aleksei Leonov, the cosmonaut, also Twofold Hero of the Soviet Union.

The list of guests includes Vladimir Rushaylo, the CIS Executive Secretary, Sergey Ragotin, the President of the International Confederation of Russian Trade Unions, Aleksei Leonov, the Twofold Hero of the Soviet Union, the heads of the CIS countries’ state establishments on the youth, sport and tourism, as well as famous sportsmen. The official delegation will be received by Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, Artur Rasizada, the Prime-Minister, Abulfaz Garayev, the Minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism.
