The World Health Organization (WHO) held a workshop on blood donation in Baku from 26 to 28 September. The Azerbaijani Health Ministry said that the event was organized at
the Training Center of Reforms in Health.
Attending the seminar allocated for hematologists from Baku and regions were a group of experts of the WHO headed by Valentine Haufner, a regional adviser. The seminar focused on issues of donation, organization of the work of blood transfusing stations and units, ethnology, pathogenesis, clinics, and treatment of blood system diseases, haemopoiesis, familiarization of the participants with the advanced achievements of immunohematology.
The Ministry said that the cooperation with the WHO in this direction would continue.
