Close relatives of the arrested former head of Gynja city police department Rasim Akberov held the action in Strassbourg, the inmate’s brother, Rafael Akberov told Trend.
В"The action took place in front of the building of the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). About 20 our relatives, living in Strassbourg, disseminated the leaflets among the participants in front of the building having gathered prior to the start of the session and making no obstacles to anyone. The leaflets with the address
were forwarded personally to the CE Secretary General Terri Davis and the PACE co-rapporteur on political prisoners Malcolm Bruce”, Akberov reported.
Akberov also said, groundlessness and illegality of the Rasim Akberov’s arrest had been indicated in the leaflets. В"We also pointed out, he remains jailed while having a heavy disease, although persons arrested at the same time and for the same crimes, as Akberov, are released already”, Rafael Akberov said.
It should be noted Rasim Akberov was arrested some years ago on charges of the state coup attempts, illegal storing of ammunitions and etc., and was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment. He is currently kept in reformatory N9.
