UNICEF to continue implementation of project on inclusive education in Azerbaijan

“UNICEF will continue the implementation of the project on inclusive education in Azerbaijan in 2006,” Zamina Aligizi, the chairman of the Center of Assistance to Reforms in Education, told a news conference on Friday.

The first pilot project of the kind in Azerbaijan is implemented with the financial support from the UNESCO. 24 children in need of special care have been attracted to the project. They attend Kindergarten-School-Lyceum Complex No 43 in Narimanov district of Baku, Orphanage-Kindergarten No 80, Secondary School 4 in Sumgait and Kindergarten 66. 6 children attend school and 6 children go to kindergarten.

The chairman of the Center of Assistance to Reforms in Education informed the participants of the ceremony about the website and stressed that the inquiry and forum links were active in the website to make it dynamic. The website provides data on children, teachers, and enterprises involved in the project on “Children in need of special care: inclusive education”. The website also provides data on the project, the work and perspective plans.

According to Aligizi, under the project they conducted seminars and trainings for teachers and specialists, who are involved in working with such children. All data about the project are available at website of the organization (www.inkluzivedu.com).
