The Azerbaijani national team of power-lifting joined the world championship which started in Dessau, Germany, on Monday.
The team includes owner of the World Cup, Vusal Mardanov, Ibrahim Ibrahimov, Bayram Aliyev, Bakhtiyar Guliyev, Rustam Musayev, Kamil Gafarov, Ali Asgarov, who will fight for awards. The head of the National Federation, Aladdin Aliyev, said that the team is in condition to won the highest awards, despite the strong rivalry over the past years. The major rival of the Azerbaijani power-lifters can be the sportsmen from Russia, the United States.
Aliyev, who has repeatedly won awards in the prestigious tournaments, will represent Azerbaijan in the referee corps of Azerbaijan.
