The Military Court on Serious Crimes held preliminary hearings over ex-commander of the military unit N of Tovuz District, Lieutenant-Colonel Rahim Mammadsharifov, on Thursday, and former commander of unit of secret service men, Senior Lieutenant, Rufat Badirkhanly, under the chairmanship of judge Mehdi Asadov.

The act of charges says that the commanders, aware of betrayal of secrets by Zaur Veysov, a soldier, to Armenian side, concealed the crime upon taking $1000 in bribery.

However, during the preparatory hearings the convicted did not pleaded their guilty. Their law-defenders raised a petition and stated the initial investigation into the case was preconceived and smattering. Therefore, they demanded to send back the case to initial investigation for repeated consideration.

However, upon short consultation the judge rejected the petition and announced on the will of continuing the legal sessions. The hearings were scheduled for 29 November.

Veysov has been recently charged by the country and imprisoned 14 years.
