Deputy Head appointed to Kazakh National Fund Samruk-Kazyna

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Kuandyk Bishimbayev was appointed the Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov said.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Kuandyk Bishimbayev was appointed the Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov said.

"I have agreed on Bishimbayev's appointment as the Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh National Welfare Fund," Masimov wrote on his personal page on Twitter.

Bishimbayev was born on April 11, 1980. He graduated from the Kazakh State Academy of Management in 1999 specializing in international economic relations. In 2001 he graduated from the School of Management and Business at George Washington University (USA) as part of the Bolashak program.

He began his career in 2001 as the general manager in the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. "Since 2003 he held management positions at the National Innovation Fund, the Center for Marketing and Analytical Research and the Ordabasy Corporation. In November 2005 he was an advisor to the Economy and Budget Planning Minister and from February 2006 an adviser to the Prime Minister. Since January 2007 he served as the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade. Since February 2008 he worked as head of the social and economic monitoring department, head of the Presidential Administration and Assistant to the Kazakh President. Since March 2010 he was Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade.
