If U.S. technical default occurs, Kazakh economy may also be affected, some local experts believe.
Political analyst Alexander Knyazev says that talks should continue about the consequences of possible a default for the entire world's economy.
"Today the dollar is the main world currency. Although the euro and Chinese yuan will also be likely to participate in international processes quite actively, their authority is not yet as high - although, everything can change in the future", Knyazev said.
He said that if something happens to the dollar, then absolutely everyone - very rich countries and developing countries - and of course, the poorest countries, will feel the negative effect.
"As is known, much is linked with the U.S. dollar in the Kazakh economy. For example, the main export types - oil and metals - are also sold for dollars. Therefore, this currency's fall will hit all spheres of the economy", he said.
He believes that some specific mechanisms should be thought out to address this problem.
"We need to be ready for the worst scenario", Knyazev says.
In turn, the chairman of the Kazakh Association of Financiers Serik Akhanov calls "not to anticipate and not to make any specific predictions."
"As is known, the Americans still have time for the two parties in Congress to agree and prevent a similar situation from arising. Now everything depends on them, and I am sure that they understand the level of responsibility", he said.
Akhanov said that if a technical default occurs and the dollar falls, the world will suffer a catastrophe.
"I do not even know what it can be compared with. In a word, it is difficult to predict the consequences, but they will be something terrible. And, unfortunately, preparing for such an impact is almost impossible", he said.
