Azerbaijani banks’ assets up by 12 percent in 2011

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), as of January 1, 2012 the assets of banks increased to 14.259.18 billion manat compared to 12.768.35 billion manat as of early 2011, the statistical report of the Central Bank said today. The banking assets increased by 11.68 percent in 2011.

The total liabilities of the banking sector were estimated at 11.831.71 billion manat.

The basis of the banking sector's assets includes the loans to the clients to the amount of 9.006.4 billion manat, investments (1.440.8 billion manat) and funds on correspondent accounts (1.336.4 billion manat). About 567.7 million manat fall to the loans to the financial sector. The structure of liabilities includes the deposits (6.673.4 billion manat as of 2011). Loans and deposits of the financial sector amounted to 4.352 billion manat.
There are 44 banks in Azerbaijan.
