The Kazakh Senate (the Parliament's lower chamber) has adopted a law on the ratification of the Treaty on the Joint Board of Customs Union's Customs Services at the plenary session on Thursday, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.

According to the agreement signed in Moscow on June 22, 2011, Customs Union members open representative offices of customs services in other countries and these representative offices operate on the basis of domestic law of the founder country.

The representative office is headed by a customs board member of the host country. Its structure is determined by the founder country in agreement with the customs service of the host country.

The representative office monitors implementation of the Customs Union's customs legislation, preparing proposals to improve its implementation, analyze implementation of customs and other types of state control at the Customs Union border checkpoints in the host country and develop proposals to unificate them. All these measures should ensure interaction of the Customs Union's customs services.
