Ambassador: Russian-Azerbaijani money transfers are largest amongst CIS countries

The average amount of a money transfer from Russia to Azerbaijan hit $617 in 2012, which is the highest amongst CIS countries, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin said at a meeting of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC) today.

The average amount of a money transfer from Russia to Azerbaijan hit $617 in 2012, which is the highest amongst CIS countries, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin said at a meeting of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC) today.

"Anywhere from 600,000 to 3 million Azerbaijanis live in Russia," he said. "There are different figures, but the numbers regardless of source are high."

Today, he said that around 88 flights and 10 train tours a week are made between the countries. The number of bus trips was not counted.

"Bus trips on 29 routes are made from Zagatala to Russia," he said. "New trips will be made in the future."
