Kazakhstan has considerably increased vehicle production in 2012, Kazakh Industry and New Technologies Ministry told Trend via e-mail on Monday

Kazakhstan has considerably increased vehicle production in 2012, Kazakh Industry and New Technologies Ministry told Trend via e-mail on Monday.

"Kazakh enterprises produced 18,192 cars in 2012 compared to 11,953 cars in 2010-2011," the Ministry said.

In particular, in 2012 Kazakhstan produced 16,409 passenger cars, 1,684 trucks and 99 buses.

Passenger cars were produced by Asia Auto company in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, AgromashHolding and SaryarkaAvtoProm in the city of Kostanai in the reporting period.

Asia Auto produced 14,008 passenger cars in this period including 4,887 VAZ, 2,196 Skoda, 2,876 Chevrolet and 4,049 KIA. AgromashHolding produced 2,272 passenger cars including 1,659 Ssang Yong and 613 ZAZ. SaryarkaAvtoProm produced 129 passenger cars including 102 UAZ and 27 IVECO.

Among the companies producing trucks are KAMAZ- Engineering company in the city of Kokshetau, SemAZ company in the city of Semei and Sauda company in Almaty region.

In 2012 KAMAZ- Engineering produced 964 KAMAZ trucks, SemAZ - 74 WAF trucks and Sauda - 646 Hyundai trucks.

Kazakh enterprises produced 92 Daewoo buses and 7 Hyundai buses in 2012. Daewoo buses were produced by Daewoo Bus Kazakhstan company in the city of Semei and Hyundai buses were produced by Sauda company in Almaty region.

According to the Ministry, earlier all the vehicles manufactured in Kazakhstan were sold at the domestic market.

However in 2012, Kazakhstan launched vehicle exports for the first time.

"Sauda company exported 150 Hyundai light trucks to the Republic of Belarus in 2012," the Ministry said.
