Multimodal logistics center to be created in Fergana valley until yearend

A multimodal logistics center will be created in Namangan province of Uzbekistan until the end of 2013 according to the decision of Uzbek government.

The unitary enterprise (UE) "Pap logistics center" will be created under the state-owned joint stock railway company (SJSRC) "O'zbekiston temir yo'llari" in order to develop the transportation and logistics infrastructure of Fergana valley.

Center will process about 4 million tons of cargo per year.

The main task of "Pap" logistics centre will be provision of unified multimodal scheme of cargo delivery in Fergana valley having full inter-connection with "Angren" logistics center in Tashkent province and using specialized stations of the regional rail interchange of Fergana with 91.7 thousand tons of concurrent capacity.

"Pap" center should provide single transportation process by different transportation facilities including the efficient use of the fleet of motor vehicles of Closed JSC "Angren logistics center" for freight transportation through the mountain pass of Kamchik.

Construction of the infrastructure for the logistics center should be completed this year. It starts functioning on January 1, 2014. The SJSRC is financed by its own resources.

"Pap" is exempted from all kind of taxes and mandatory assessments to public trust funds until January 2017.
