Azerbaijan, Baku, May 2 / Trend /

Since April, Holcim (Azerbaijan) employees started collection and submission of waste paper at the plant and the city office for recycling by a local company, Holcim reported on Thursday.

According to the world experience, average person uses around 50 kg of paper per year. The paper recycling process allows to significantly reduce the negative impact on environment and creating more efficient use of natural resources.

It should be noted that paper production process is more power-consuming in comparison with the glass or steel production. So, recycling one ton of paper can save 15 big trees or up to 3 tons of wood, as well as 25 tons of water, 238 liters of oil and 4100 kWh (15 GJ) of electricity.

As part of efficient and sustainable usage of the natural resources, maintaining Garadagh region's ecological balance is part of Holcim values. Holcim (Azerbaijan) is the leading company contributing to the country's environmental protection.
