Some 17 million tons of cargo were transported by road transport through Azerbaijan in January-May 2013 or 1.38 per cent more than in the same period of 2012, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said on Tuesday.
According to the report, exports of cargo during this period amounted to 13.25 million tons, while imports were 3.76 million tons.
Some 13.25 tons of cargo were exported by sea, 1.11 million tons by railway, 242,400 tons by motor transport, 52,400 tons by air and 11.75 million tons by stationary vehicles during the first five months.
Some 745,000 tons of cargo were imported by sea, 2.28 million tons by railway, 702,260 tons by vehicles and 8660 tons of cargo by air.
