Iranian Official: National currencies replace international currencies

Iran and Indonesia can use their national currencies instead of international currencies for expanding bilateral economic relations, head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Mohammad Nahavandian said, Iranian Donya-e-eqtesad newspaper reported.

Iran and Indonesia can use their national currencies instead of international currencies for expanding bilateral economic relations, head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Mohammad Nahavandian said, Iranian Donya-e-eqtesad newspaper reported.

Iran has good experience in this issue, Nahavandian said, Adding that, Iran's new administration would do its best to lift limits created by international sanctions against Iran.

Nahavandian who also serves also as the head of President Hassan Rouhani`s Office made the remarks during a meeting with the head of the Indonesian Chamber, Suryo Sulisto and a group of private sector members.

Oil, gas and petrochemical sectors are proper grounds for cooperation between Iran and Indonesia, he said.

The head of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suryo Sulisto said in his turn, that Indonesia needs Iran's gas and oil.

He remarked Indonesia's economic development during last several years, and said that Jakarta needs boosting bilateral cooperation with Iran on construction infrastructural projects.

It should be recalled that, US imposed sanctions that target the Iranian national currency of rial.
