Some 4.3 billion manat was spent to address the social problems of refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan during 1993-2013, the country's government told Trend on Thursday.

The government said that around 46.5 per cent of these funds or two million manat was allocated from the state budget, 34.9 per cent or 1.5 billion manat from Azerbaijan's State Oil Fund and 18.6 per cent or 0.8 billion manat were provided by international organisations.

The poverty level among Azerbaijan's IDPs shrank from 75 per cent in 2003 to 15 per cent in 2012.

Meanwhile, the volume of funds spent for improving IDP living conditions grows. If about 20 million manat was sent for this goal in 2003, the sum amounted to 311.5 million in 2013. The maximum figure of 352 million manat was reached last year.

The official exchange rate on September 19 is 0.7845 AZN/USD.
