Iran's Zamyad vehicle output increases by 16 percent

The Iranian Zamyad Co. car manufacturer, has faced a 25 percent increase in car production during first 6 months of the current solar year (started on March 21) compared to the same period of the last solar year, Iranian Jahaneghtesad newspaper reported.

According to the report, the car manufacturer has produced 16,300 vehicles during the first half of the current solar year.

Zamyad Co. is an Iranian commercial vehicle manufacturing company. It was founded in 1963 as part of the RENA Industrial Group in Tehran.

The company manufactures commercial vehicles, including different kinds of trucks, buses, vans and minivans.
Early in September, IRNA news agency reported that Iran has produced 224,927 cars in the first five months of the current solar year.

Some 190,394 sedan cars, 31,597 pickup trucks, 2,750 trucks, 161 buses, and 25 minbuses were produced in the country in the mentioned period.

Iran produced 989,110 cars in 2012, which made the country Asia's eighth largest car manufacturer, and world's 18th.

Iran's automobile output faced 40 percent decrease in 2012. The country was Asia's 5th largest car manufacturer in 2011, with a total output of 1,648,505.
Increasing prices of raw materials and foreign currencies are the main problems that the car manufacturers are facing.
