The Japanese government will allocate a $116,200 grant for the creation of a system of storage and processing domestic wastes in Azerbaijan's Gakh district.

A corresponding agreement will be signed on Friday by the Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Shusuke Watanabe and the Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Community Development Research, Training and Resource Center, Yasin Dadashov.

The project is mainly focused on the construction of chambers for the burning of domestic wastes in order to practically secure the sustainable management of and recycling of wastes in Gakh district.

The project will cover 18,680 people.

The total volume of the funds, allocated by Japan to Azerbaijan for projects on the development of infrastructure, agriculture and other spheres, exceeds $1 billion.
