Azerbaijan intends to create a Tax Ombudsman Institute in the country in the medium-term.

Azerbaijan intends to create a Tax Ombudsman Institute in the country in the medium-term.

According to the draft concept of Azerbaijan's socio-economic development for 2014 and the next three years, this is one of the priorities of the country's tax policy. A budget package for 2014 is currently being considered by parliament.

In addition, the establishment of institutions of private tax consultants is also among the priorities of the tax policy.

Meanwhile other priorities of development of the tax system include the improvement of personnel training by using modern forms and methods of education, development of international cooperation and integration of tax legislation into the international tax system, expansion of coverage and improvement of electronic service as well as improvement of fiscal and regulatory functions of the tax policy.

Georgia, Australia, Canada and Great Britain have Tax Ombudsman and the creation of a Tax Ombudsman Institute is underway in Kazakhstan
