Over 5 million people provided with jobs in Turkey in last four year

Some 5,144,382 people in Turkey were provided with jobs starting from 2009 till now, according to a message published on Dec. 3 on the website of the Institute of Statistics of Turkey (TUIK).

Some 93 per cent of the people provided with jobs in the private sector, whereas seven per cent were provided with jobs in the public sector, according to the message.

Earlier TUIK's report showed that in August 2013 the unemployment rate stood at 9.8 per cent, one per cent more than the same month of 2012.

According to the report, the number of unemployed in Turkey in August 2012 amounted to 2,455 million, whereas in August 2013 some 2.806 million unemployed were registered in the country.

In general, the unemployment rate in the non-agricultural sector of the Turkish economy stood at 12.3 per cent according to the report. The unemployment rate among young people amounted to 18.7 per cent.
