Turkish construction company Atlas Group will take part in the construction of the Makkah Gate project in Saudi Arabia, Turkish newspaper Zaman reported on Dec. 10.
Some 128,000 apartments will be constructed in Makkah (also known as Mecca) as part of the Makkah Gate project, according to the newspaper.
The newspaper also reported that the implementation of the project will include a total of 20 stages and after construction of the apartments, there are plans to build trade centres and hotels as well as sports complexes.
Earlier, chairman of the board of directors of the Makkah Gate Company, Osama Al-Bar said that 70 per cent of the project will cover the vicinity of the Grand Mosque of Mecca.
