Currently, the cards are used on two buses No 10 and No 95. By the end of February, they will be used on 250 buses covering 36 routes.

These prepaid-cards are emitted by the Bank of Azerbaijan using MasterCard.

The card will cost three manat, of which two manat is an insurance deposit and one manat will be transferred to its balance.

"Some 450,000 cards have already been prepared," he said. "Another million cards were ordered additionally. One can purchase the cards in 80 kiosks in the city, as well as at Bank of Azerbaijan branches."

The special readers called verifiers have been already installed on 1000 buses operating in the city.

"One can fill up a card balance in kiosks and sale points with a special logo," Hasanov said.
