A regional forum of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB Group) will be held in Almaty on Jan.15, Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies said on Jan.13.
"The forum will be held during the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the organization and is dedicated to the results of activity of the IDB Group, as well as its future strategy," the ministry said.
Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Asset Issekeshev, representatives of other state bodies of Kazakhstan, as well as Albania, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are expected to participate at the event.
The participants of the forum intend to discuss the possible ways for the IDB Group to contribute to the socio-economic development of the member states in various spheres and in fighting against poverty at regional and global levels.
The forum will be preceded by two seminars on Jan.14 on the theme of "Promoting the global development of Islamic financial sector" and "Contribution to development of Muslim communities in countries that are not members of the IDB Group," the ministry said.
