On January 30th 2014, American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan "AmCham" hosted Monthly Members' Luncheon with Chief of the State Migration Service "SMS" Mr Firudin Nabiyev. Mr Nabiyev cordially welcomed the participants and expressed his sincere satisfaction with the cooperation between SMS and AmCham. He informed the members about the latest achievements of SMS and amendments to the migration code proposed by AmCham members in 2013.

"I will be very sincere at this meeting, I very much appreciate the effort of AmCham to the development of economic and business environment, for the proposals made by AmCham members to the Migration code that were adopted and for the continues fruitful cooperation. State Migration Service will always support AmCham members in their initiatives and proposals. All the questions addressed to the State Migration Service by AmCham members will be answered. "said Mr. Firudin Nabiyev, Chief of the State Migration Service.

"We highly appreciate this cooperation that evolved to the next level under your leadership. Our constant collaboration and the fact that a number of our proposals to the Migration Code were reflected in the final text as well as your continuous readiness for dialogue are best indicators of this. We hope for ongoing cooperation that will positively contribute to Azerbaijan Business Environment" said Ms. Nargiz Nasrullayeva - Muduroglu Executive Director of AmCham.

Mr. Firudin Nabiyev called AmCham members to hire Azerbaijani nationals. He expressed his understanding in the lack of qualified personnel in Azerbaijani labor market. Because of this companies should provide trainings to the employees they hire. In order to address the issue of talents gap AmCham and the Ministry of Education are working on the joint project to prepare Azerbaijani youth for the business. The education survey distributed during the luncheon was the first step towards the project. The survey was filled in by AmCham members.
