Gold reserves are forecasted at 10,000 tons in Kazakhstan the Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Sauranbayev said at the press-conference in the framework of the dialogue platform "Geology-360 °" in Astana on March 5.

Gold reserves are forecasted at 10,000 tons in Kazakhstan the Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Sauranbayev said at the press-conference in the framework of the dialogue platform "Geology-360 °" in Astana on March 5.

However, some 1159 tons of gold is listed on the balance sheet, and 1,107 tons of gold is expected to be produced, he said.

"The explored gold reserves in Kazakhstan increased by 325 tons over the last three years," Sauranbayev said

The Kazakh president has set the task of bringing gold production up to 70 tons per year in upcoming years. Its solution require large-scale exploratory groundwork both at the expense of the state budget and at the expense of the of subsoil users.

Currently, over 95 percent of explored gold reserves are in subsoil use. The gold field reserves make up 62 per cent of the deemed state balance. A considerable part of the gold reserves and production accounts for the complex auriferous pyrite- polymetallic field.
