By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend:

The Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications announced the annual heavy-vehicle restrictions for national roads on March 17.

" The restriction is in force in Akmola, Aktobe, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda (Karaganda region), Kostanai, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan provinces of the country from March 23 to May 1 of the year. And in Almaty, Atyrau, Jambil, Karaganda (Jezkazgan district), Kizilorda and Mangistau provinces from March 1 to April 1," the statement said.

The maximum weight allowable for dual axles of vehicles with dual wheels at the distance between the axles of 1.3-1.8 cm amounts to 13.2 tons, and for triple axles with single wheels - 18 tons.

"As it is known, such a restriction is introduced on the roads each year. And this practice is adopted by many countries with similar climatic conditions. The fact is that in the spring, waterlogged- road pavement becomes vulnerable to heavy load transport and needs more protection," the Chairman of the Committee on Transport Control under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan Aset Asavbaev said.
