The investment climate in Kazakhstan will be discussed at an international conference 'Invest in Kazakhstan' to be held within the annual general meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the first time in Astana on April 2, the Kazakh Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning said.

The investment conference will become an interactive platform for businesses and politicians in the Central Asian region and Europe, the ministry said.

Economists, experts and heads of leading development institutes, banks, small and medium-sized business, as well as international investor companies operating in Kazakhstan will attend the conference, the Kazakh ministry said.

ADB President Takehiko Nakao, President of the Toyota Motor Europe, Didier Leroy and others will make speeches at the conference, according to the conference programme.

"Participants at the conference will discuss issues relating to the development of the economy, financial system and state policy of Kazakhstan which contributes to attracting investments in the country. Moreover, Kazakhstan's opportunities both in a regional and global scale in terms of attracting investments in joint projects for promoting products and goods produced in Kazakhstan, as well as in the development of business and trade relations between national and foreign producers will be discussed at the conference," the Kazakh Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning said.

Investment agreements and memorandums are expected to be signed with foreign partners on the results of the forum.

The 47th ADB annual conference on the theme 'New Silk Road connecting Asia with Europe in a changing world' will be held in Astana on May 2-5.

Kazakhstan has been cooperating with the ADB since 1991. The country has attracted over $3.2 billion worth of loans from ADB since its accession in 1994 for the development of agriculture, education, finance, transport and water supplies.
