Charygeldi Charlyev was appointed minister of agriculture in Turkmenistan, according to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's document.

Turkmenistan grows cotton and wheat for export. The country has recently accelerated the capacity for the mineral fertilizer production. The U.S and Belarus actively purchase the agricultural machinery as part of the radical reform carried out in the agro-industrial complex of the country.

Turkmenistan started raw cotton sowing in March with the aim of harvesting more than one million tons of cotton.

Cotton is not only the main raw material for the national textile industry, but also a valuable export product. Traditionally, the country supplies raw materials to China, Russia , Great Britain, South Korea, Turkey , Iran, Indonesia, Singapore , Ukraine and the Baltic countries.

As for wheat, 1.6 million ton harvest is expected to be collected from 860,000 hectare land in 2014. Last year, Turkmenistan managed to collect 1.6 million tons of wheat. More than 1,880 Case, New Holland, John Deere and CLAAS harvesters were used.

The council on export of agricultural and marketable products of the ministries and departments, agricultural corporations related to the agro-industrial complex has been recently established in the country, according to the Turkmen president's decision.
