Baku, Azerbaijan, April 25

By Emin Aliyev - Trend:

Azerbaijan will study the Czech Republic's experience in creation of the technology parks.

This is stated in a protocol signed on April 25 after the second meeting of Azerbaijan-Czech Republic bilateral intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation.

"The parties agreed to establish cooperation in communications and information technologies on such directions as the creation of an innovative economic environment and technological parks in Azerbaijan, as well as studying the experience of the Czech Republic, which is a leader in this sphere," according to the protocol.

Currently, Azerbaijan is rapidly creating industrial parks.

The Balakhani Eco-Industrial Park is being created in Baku. It will recycle plastic wastes, tires, electrical appliances, batteries, non-ferrous metals, cables and other domestic wastes.

The works at Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park and creation of a metallurgical industrial area in Ganja (with a focus on aluminium production) are also successfully continuing.

A light industry area will also be created in the Mingachevir city.

Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic also intend to mull the possibility of signing an intergovernmental agreement between the relevant state agencies of the two countries to create a legal framework for future cooperation.
