Foreign companies plan to increase investment in railway engineering projects in Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakh Railways) said on Sept. 24.
The heads of the world's leading engineering companies confirmed the intention to increase direct investment in joint engineering projects with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy at the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology Inno Trans in Berlin.

"President of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Askar Mamin and CEOs of General Electric Transportation - Russell Stokes; Alstom Transportation - Henri Poupart-Lafarge; Patentes Talgo - Jose Maria Oriol agreed on the action plans regarding the increase of the foreign companies' share in joint engineering projects before the end of this year," the company said.

The increase of foreign companies' share in joint projects will allow foreign companies to continue integrating Kazakh enterprises into global supply chains and increase their export potential.

"The strategic decision of foreign companies emphasizes the favorable investment climate of the country and the prospects for the development of railway engineering in Kazakhstan", the company said.
