As of January-September 2014, the revenue part of Turkmenistan's main financial plan hit 119.2 percent, while expenses were 96.7 percent, the Turkmen Ministry of Finance said.

The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that "the most important task of state budget execution is execution of the full and timely collection of taxes, other charges and income as a whole and for each source, as well as funding for activities within the amounts approved by the budget", the report said.

The president noted the need for strict control over the execution of the state budget and targeted budget spending.

The incomes hit 94.12 billion Turkmen manats, and expenses - 97.82 billion Turkmen manats in the Turkmen state budget for 2014 approved by the parliament (1$/2.85 Turkmen manat).

The profitable part in the Turkmen state budget is formed by such sectors as oil and gas, chemical, power engineering and construction. The budget envisages the ongoing development of agro-industrial complex, transport, communication, textile and food sectors.

The revenues are expected to grow at the expense of further development and support for the activity of non-state enterprises.

Turkmenistan holds one of the key positions in the region for the supply of natural gas imported by Russia, China and Iran.
