Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover increased by 0.6 percent to $21.3 billion in January - September 2014 according to the preliminary data compared to the same period of 2013, the State Statistics Committee said Oct. 22.
The export in the total volume of the trade turnover reached $11.1 billion or 0.2 percent more compared to the previous year. The imports increased by 0.9 percent - to $ 10.2 billion.
Uzbekistan's external surplus amounted to $916.8 million in January - September 2014 compared to $ 2.962 billion in the previous year (three-fold decrease).
The State Statistics Committee's summary does not include the data on the commodity structure of exports and imports, as well as main trading partners of the country.
The Uzbek foreign trade turnover increased by 9.4 percent to $28.886 billion in 2013. The exports increased by 10.9 percent to $15.87 billion, imports - by 7.7 percent to $13.798 billion. The external surplus amounted to $1.288 billion, the State Statistics Committee said.
