By Elena Kosolapova - Trend:

Belarusian and Kazakh truckers will be able to transport cargo between the countries without any permits, starting from 2015, RIA Novosti reported with the reference to representative of Belarusian Transport Ministry.

Both countries already have permit-free regime for cargo trucking with Russia.

The transport authorities of Belarus and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on a phased lifting of restrictions in international road transportation in April 2013.

The document envisages cancellation of permits system for cargo haulage in bilateral and transit transportation after completing all the necessary internal procedures.

"Since the beginning of next year cargo transportation between Belarus and Kazakhstan, which are the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as cargo transit through the territory of Belarus and Kazakhstan will be realized without permits," the source said.

This is envisaged by the Treaty on the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union which will come in force on January 1, 2015, said the source.

Meanwhile, permits system will remain for cargo transportation to and from third countries. Belarus and Kazakhstan have agreed on a provisional quota of permits for 2015, the source said.

Moreover, the parties agreed to improve the mechanism of such transportation in order to increase the competitiveness of Belarusian and Kazakh carriers in third countries.

The Eurasian Economic Union, also known as the Eurasian Union, is an economic union which is planned to be established by a treaty signed in May 2014 between the leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia. All the three countries have already ratified the agreement on its creation. The Union will officially go into effect on 1 January 2015.

The common market of the future Eurasian Economic Union will include 170 million people.
