Kazakhstan airlines will buy over 60 new planes by 2020, the first deputy minister for investment and development of Kazakhstan Jenis Kasymbek said Oct.29 at a briefing in service of the central communications in Astana.

"By 2020, it is planned to buy 61 aircraft of western production, and after that, the average age of the aircraft at the Air Astana airlines will amount to 6 years, and 15 years at the SCAT airlines," he said. "This will ensure the expansion of the geography of flights of the Kazakh airlines."

He said that Kazakhstan plans to open 75 new international flights till 2020. After that, the total number of international flights will be 128.

From the beginning of 2014, Kazakhstan received 8 aircraft. Air Astana airlines received 5 aircraft, Bek Air - 2 aircraft, and the SCAT airlines received 1 aircraft, the first vice-minister said.
