KazMunaiGas Kazakh national oil and gas company plans to create data-rooms for projects and fields in order to attract foreign companies for geological exploration projects, the company told Trend Nov.11.

The data-rooms represent the internet archive, which contains information on all fields and projects, a source familiar with the company's plans said. Potential investors interested in mines or projects will be able to get this information.

KazMunaiGas may open the data-rooms, turning to the IT-company that provides such services and has large servers, where it can locate and store such information.

The company said that such technologies as hydro scanning, helium survey, multifocusing etc. represent the greatest interest in geological exploration today.

Earlier it was reported that KazMunaiGas has already identified and begins to implement projects in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea (Block H, Zhambyl, Mahambet, etc.), and the onshore part (Urikhtau, Kansu, North Karpovskiy, Fokshani etc.). The projects are aimed at finding oil and gas in the Paleozoic and Mesozoic sediments within sedimentary basins of Kazakhstan, mostly with proven oil potential.

KazMunaiGas National Company JSC is the Kazakh national operator for exploration, production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the state's interests in the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan. Some 100 percent of the shares belong to the state through the National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna.
