Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed the government to study the issue of building or leasing capacities in dry ports of China, Iran, Russia and the EU countries, said the president's message to the people of Kazakhstan Nov.11.

He said that the development of transport capacity is very important for Kazakhstan.

The president said that the development of transport and logistics infrastructure will be implemented through the formation of macro regions according to the hub principle. The infrastructure framework will connect macro regions by motorways, railways and airlines on the radial principle.

"We need to complete the Western Europe-Western China motorway," he said. "Next, we will build Astana-Almaty motorway."

Nazarbayev said that the motorways will be constructed from Astana to Ust-Kamenogorsk through Pavlodar and Semey, Astana-Aktobe-Atyrau, from Almaty to Ust-Kamenogorsk, from Karaganda to Zheskazgan and Kyzylorda.

In addition, the president finds it necessary to continue the creation of a logistics hub in the east and maritime infrastructure in the west of Kazakhstan.
"A large-scale ferry service from the Kuryk port and the Borzhakty-Ersai railway, which is now under construction, will help to improve the export capacity in a western direction through the ports on the Caspian Sea," he said.
