Non-oil sector ensures over 57% of tax revenues to Azerbaijani state budget

The Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry transferred tax payments in the amount of 6.14 billion AZN to the state budget in January-October 2014, the ministry's website reported Nov.12.

The official exchange rate is 0.7844 AZN/USD on Nov. 12.

Thus, 34.9 percent of a total volume of tax fees accounted for the share of income tax proceeds for the period, value added tax - 26.9 percent, income tax - 12.9 percent, excise taxes - 10.4 percent, other taxes - 14.9 percent, the report said.

Tax deductions from non-oil sector to the state budget amounted to 3.54 billion AZN in January-October or 57.66 percent of a total volume of proceeds.

The proceeds through this line increased by 14.5 percent compared to the same period of last year, the report said.

The forecast on tax deductions for 2014 for the ministry is set in the amount of 7.1 billion AZN.

Around 68,798 taxpayers passed state registration in Azerbaijan within ten months of 2014, which is 15 percent more than the last year. The total number of taxpayers as of November 1, 2014 was 597,799 people, which is 12.9 percent more than the last year.

The share of tax returns filed in electronic form was 90.4 percent in January-October 2014.
