Official dealers decrease cars sales in Kazakhstan

Official dealers decreased sales of new cars by 13.16 percent in Kazakhstan in Oct.

By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Official dealers decreased sales of new cars by 13.16 percent in Kazakhstan in Oct., Kazakhstan Today reported with the reference to Kazakhstan's Auto Business Association.

Official dealers sold 14,825 cars in this period.

The association does not forecast any major changes in the market until the yearend. It expects the official dealers to sell about 35,000 new cars in Nov - Dec.

Sales in Jan.- Oct. hit 136,888 cars (2.82 percent increase compared to the same period of 2013).

Among the sold cars 80.1 percent or 109,657 cars were imported from abroad. Sales of domestically produced cars hit 19.9 percent or 27,231.

The majority of cars sold in Kazakhstan were imported from Russia (55.8 percent of all sales or 76,350 cars).

Kazakh cars were the second best sellers. A total number of 27,231 cars or 20 percent of all sold cars were produced within the country.

Cars from Uzbekistan ranked third with 9,555 sold cars or 7 percent of all sales.

Car sales in monetary terms hit $3.0636 billion in January-Oct. 2014 (4.53 percent increase compared to the same period of 2013). The share of domestically producers amounted to $647.9 million or 21 percent of all sales, while the share of imported cars hit $2.4156 billion.
