Tbilisi, Georgia, Dec. 8
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

Georgia may refuse from private investments and build the Khudoni Hydro Power Plant (HPP) independently, Georgian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze said at a meeting with students Dec. 8.

Kaladze stressed the importance of the Khudoni HPP construction project for the country.

"Currently, the negotiations are underway with the Indian Trans Electric company," he said. "We urge that all processes to be fully transparent."

Kaladze pointed out that this company was registered in the offshore zone, which creates some problems.

"We consider it appropriate to have everything transparent as the interests of our people in this project are very high," Kaladze said. "We urge to inform about their founders and their potential to implement this project."
