Turkey intends to develop the defense industry, Kanal7 TV channel quoted Turkish Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Fikri Ishik Dec. 11 as saying.
The minister said that Turkey must become fully independent in the defense industry, stressing its importance for the country. The Turkish defense industry has been recently focused on the development and production of own products.
It has managed to achieve 54 percent self-sufficiency in the defense industry to date.
