By Azad Hasanli - Trend:

The Customs Union (CU) member countries' audit commission appreciated the quality of products of Azerbaijan's meat and dairy enterprises, and poultry farms, the head of the press service at State Veterinary Service of Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry, Yolchu Khanveli told Trend.

"For the time being we don't have accurate information whether any agreement was reached with local businesses during the Customs Union representatives' visit to the country last week, but in general they appreciated the quality of products at meat and dairy enterprises and poultry farms," he said.

"Now they will have discussions in their countries with specialists, and after this a final decision will be made on the delivery of Azerbaijani products," Khanveli added.

Last week, Azerbaijan was visited by an auditing commission of the CU member countries (Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan), which reviewed the compliance of the quality of products at Azerbaijan's meat and dairy plants and poultry farms with export regulations.

In case if the inspection results meet the veterinary and phytosanitary requirements of those in the CU countries, contracts will be concluded with the enterprises and they will start exporting their products.

Khanveli noted that this issue should be settled in the near future.

Earlier, the Russian press, citing the head of the Moscow department of trade and services, Alexei Nemeryuka, reported that the supply of meat and dairy products from Azerbaijan, Belarus and Kazakhstan to Moscow doubled in the past four months.

However, Khanveli said the information is not true, as today Azerbaijan doesn't export the meat and dairy products to Russia.
