Azerbaijan exports seismic research technology to Turkey

Turkey is looking for sources of funding for the implementation of a joint project with Azerbaijan to create an international network which unites the stations of the monitoring system for the diagnosis and management Robust Noise Monitoring (RNM) to conduct seismic studies, the Control Systems Institute of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences told Trend.

RNM system aroused the interest of the Turkish side in 2012. A preliminary agreement on the installation of two stations in Turkey (Istanbul and Izmir) was achieved in 2014. The project will be launched after Turkey atttracks funding sources.

Plans are to jointly implement the project with work carried out by the Center for Seismic Studies of the 9 Eylul University and the Bogazici Istanbul University.

Currently, the station of system of forecasting anomalous phenomena (besides 10 stations on the territory of Azerbaijan) is also used in Turkmenistan. Positive results of experimental studies will allow expanding the coverage of the monitoring system for such countries as Greece, Ukraine, Italy, Macedonia, Georgia and others in the future.
