In January-December 2014, fees of Azerbaijani insurance companies on compulsory insurance of vehicle owners (CTP) totaled 70.69 million AZN, which is a 2.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year, said the report of the Bureau of compulsory insurance in Azerbaijan, published on its website.
The official exchange rate on Jan.9 is 0.7844 AZN/USD.
For comparison, at the end of 2013, the volume of insurance premiums amounted to 69.21 million AZN.
Last year, the largest volume of premiums was carried out in July - 7.84 million AZN, the smallest - in February (3.7 million AZN).
The largest volume of payments for the same period was made in October (3.8 million AZN), the lowest - in November (1.2 million AZN).
In general, in January 2014, insurance premiums worth 3.76 million AZN were collected with payments of 2.01 million AZN, in February - 3.7 million AZN with payments of 2.8 million AZN, in March - 4.4 million AZN with payments of 1.6 million AZN, in April - 6.7 million AZN with payments of 2.7 million AZN, in May - 6.5 million AZN with payments of 1.976 million AZN, in June - 5.1 million AZN with payments of 1 5 million AZN, in July - 7.8 million AZN with payments of 2.3 million AZN, in August - 7.6 million AZN with payments of 2.4 million AZN, in September - 6 million AZN with payments of 2.2 million AZN, in October - 7.4 million AZN with payments of 3.8 million AZN, in November - 6.1 million AZN with payments of 1.2 million AZN, in December - 5.5 million AZN with payments of 2.3 million AZN.

The average amount of insurance payment for the previous year amounted to 1,293 AZN. In particular, in January this sum amounted to 1,282 AZN, in February - 1,322 AZN, in March - 1,255 AZN, in April - 1,287 AZN, in May - 1,312 AZN, in June - 1,261 AZN in July - 1,528 AZN, in August - 1,729 AZN, in September - 1,209 AZN, in October - 1,336 AZN, in November - 1,168 AZN, in December - 1,225 AZN.
In total, some 931,464 insurance contracts were concluded during 2014. The largest number of contracts was signed in July - 99,020 contracts, the smallest - in January (50,600contracts).
The Compulsory Insurance Bureau includes 15 companies, 11 of which are authorized to sell policies of compulsory insurance of the third party liability.
There are 27 insurance companies in Azerbaijan.
