The first domestic training plane HURKUS was successfully tested for the second time, Anadolu agency reported Jan. 15 with reference to the Turkish Armed Forces.
Turkey will launch the mass production of the HURKUS first domestic trainer aircraft in 2018.
Around 15 HURKUS aircraft will be produced in the first stage. The first domestic trainer aircraft HURKUS was successfully tested by Turkish Research Center for Aerospace Technology (TUSAS) on Aug. 29, 2013.
Around 50 engineers and over 350 professionals worked on the design of the plane.
The center also produces parts for F-16 fighters, Airbus A380 and military Airbus A400M. TUSAS has also started production of diffusers for Airbus A350 since 2012.
