Azerbaijan sees increase in cost prices for agricultural products

The cost prices for agricultural products in Azerbaijan have increased by 1.5 percent in Azerbaijan in December, compared to November 2014, said a message posted on the website of the country's State Statistical Committee.

The prices for annuals and perennials have increased by 1.5 percent and 4.9 percent, respectively in December, according to the message.

The cost prices for the following annuals have increased: wheat - 6.4 percent, barley - 3.1 percent, bean seeds - 8.1 percent, sugar beet - 20.1 percent, cabbage - 3.1 percent and potatoes - 0.6 percent. The cost prices for tomatoes have decreased by 11.1 percent in December.

The cost prices for the following perennials have increased: persimmon - 14.7 percent, feijoa - 2.5 percent, lemons - 6.7 percent, medlar - 11.5 percent, tangerines - 12.7 percent, quince - 32.9 percent, apples - 2.4 percent, pears - 7.5 percent, chestnuts - 7.1 percent, hazelnuts - 4.6 percent, nuts - 2.9 percent. The cost prices for oranges have decreased by 5 percent in December.

The cost prices for animal products have increased by 0.8 percent in December, compared to November 2014.

The cost prices for beef and poultry in live weight have decreased by 2.6 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively during the reporting period.

Moreover, the cost prices for sheep and goats have increased by 0.3 percent, lamb in live weight - 0.1 percent, milk - 0.8 percent, eggs - 14.4 percent, the wool of sheep and goats - one percent.
