Official dealers decreased sales of new cars by 1.3 percent in Kazakhstan in Jan. - Dec. 2014 compared to 2013, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to Kazakhstan's Auto Business Association.

Official dealers sold 163,561 new cars during this period.

"Kazakhstan car market, for the first time since 2009, has shown decline in the sales of new cars," the association said.

In medium-term Kazakhstan's Auto Business Association forecasts subsequent decrease in new car sales. Conservative scenario envisages the sales at the level of 110,000 cars in 2015. Meanwhile optimistic forecast predicts 160,000 deals on new car in 2015.

Kazakhstan's Auto Business Association said that while official dealers' sales fell, the sales in the grey car market increased resulting from growing consumer demand, a fall in purchasing power of Kazakh people and a tightening of car loans conditions.

In 2014 the best seller brand was Russian LADA (45,234 sold cars or 27.66 of all sold cars). KIA was the second best seller (17,709 sold cars). Hyundai ranked third with 14,104 sold cars in Kazakhstan in 2014.
