Kazakhstan to activate gasification in some regions

The Kazakh National Company KazMunaiGas signed two memorandums of long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation on gasification, modernization and reconstruction of gas supply networks in Aktobe and Mangistau regions of the country.

The memorandum was signed between KazMunaiGas NC JSC, KazTransGas JSC and akimats (regional government) for uninterrupted gas supply and proper maintenance of pipelines and facilities on them.

The document was signed by Chairman of the Board of KazMunaiGas NC JSC Sauat Mynbayev, CEO of KazTransGas JSC Kairat Sharipbayev, Akim (governor) of Aktobe region Archimed Mukhambetov and Akim of Mangistau region Alik Aidarbayev.

The construction of three automatic gas distribution stations, the modernization of the gas distribution system, construction of gas pipe bends, feed and intra-village gas pipelines up to the sites of houses of the private sector is envisaged in Aktobe region within the general scheme of gasification of Kazakhstan until 2030 according to the memorandum.

"The investments of KazTransGas and the governorate in the construction of the abovementioned facilities will stand at about 20 billion KZT ($1 - 184.45 KZT)," said Sharipbayev.

Plans are to construct new gas pipeline networks in the Mangystau region that include: gas pipelines of high, medium and low pressure, the high pressure leading gas pipelines by installation of three automatic gas distribution stations in the town of Zhanaozen, a branch of the main gas pipeline Okarem-Beyneu to the village of Shetpe by installation of automatic gas distribution station, the inter-settlement underground leading pipelines of high and medium pressure, as well as intra-settlement of low pressure gas pipelines.

The investments of KazTransGas and the Mangystau governorate will stand at over 33 billion KZT, of which more than 20 billion KZT are designated for the gas distribution system's modernization.

Under the memorandum, the administrations of Aktobe and Mangistau provinces will allocate land plots, as well as work out consent documents for the construction of the gas supply facilities. The feasibility study and the project estimates will be worked out and further sent to KazTransGas JSC.

The Aktobe production branch of KazTransGas' subsidiary - KazTransGas Aimak JSC- currently has eight district gas facilities and pipelines with the length of 2,156 kilometers. The volume of gas sale is 806,593 cubic meters, while the gas transportation volume is equal to 1,256,022 cubic meters.

The Mangistau production branch of KazTransGas Aimak JSC currently has six district gas facilities and gas pipelines with the length of 3,117,757 meters, distribution networks (2,689,538 meters) and Zhanaozen-Aktau highway networks (428,219 kilometers). The volume of gas sale is 434,319 cubic meters, while the gas transportation volume via the main gas pipelines and distribution pipelines is equal to 2,139,114,000 cubic meters and 396,029 cubic meters, respectively.
