Oil, gas companies in Azerbaijan increase expenditures within social responsibility by 2.6 times

Some $5.87 million has been spent in 2014 for projects of social responsibility within the framework of the projects in Azerbaijan operated by the British company BP, which is 2.6 times higher than the expenditures in 2013, said the report on the results of BP's work in Azerbaijan in 2014.

In particular, expenditures in 2014 amounted to $0.37 million within the framework of the project of development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli Azerbaijani offshore fields block, $0.37 million - Shah Deniz gas condensate field, $0.73 million - Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku -Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines.

BP, which is a party to all these energy projects, spent $4.41 million within the framework of its own social responsibility projects.

In 2014, expenditures on implementation of contracts and purchase orders within energy projects, operated by BP, amounted to $2.03 billion (compared to $2.25 billion in 2013).
Expenditures on contracts for small and medium-sized enterprises (including individuals, in total 397) amounted to $755 million, state-owned companies (35 companies) - $270 million, joint ventures with a local partner (13 JV) - $462 million, according to the report. Expenditures of foreign contractors in the country amounted to $546 million in 2014.
